Hi Everyone,
Two months after the Milan Spring/Summer 2026 Fashion Week I find myself looking back at the Max Mara show with a totally new sense of awe.
At the time it was that prominent black waist band that stuck in my mind. However today, revisiting the show I feel as though the fashion of the late ’60s, early ’70’s is once again on the rise.
Possibly showing my age here but I do remember my Mum having exactly the same hairdo as the models on the Max Mara SS 2026 catwalk. Along with the memory of painfully joining for her weekly hairdresser appointments. My Dad used to complain because he wasn’t allowed to touch her hair until the end of the week. Today she also smiles at the memory.
Back to what’s in store for Spring/Summer 2026… a lot more than the cute hairdos…

Spring/Summer 2026 – Top Trends as Seen at Max Mara Runway in Milan
1. Colour palette
Max Mara as a brand is famous for their neutral tones, however normally in the Spring/Summer collections there will be some pop of colour. SS 2026 was having none of that. Instead there was simply a collection of camel, grey, black and white tones sauntering down the runway. A hint of pastel yellow and pastel blue showed up at some point, mixed with grey. But that was as colour-venturous as the house remained this season.
2. Shorts
Sophisticated shorts suits at their very best for Spring/Summer 2026.
Interesting to see the cross over bag feature once again. Loving the sophistication of this sleeveless vest/ shorts ensemble.
The open back is a hidden surprise which you wouldn’t guess from looking at the front of the outfit.
If you’re not a short, shorts type of ‘gal’ the knee length shorts remain an ever so hot item for SS 2026.
3. The pencil skirt
Note that the skirts are once again worn lower on the hips…
4. The new version of the bubble skirt.
5. Time to let your maxi dress shine…
6. Tailored wide legged trousers and how to style
Great cinched waist trouser suit…
The sleeveless tailored top version for warmer days.
My favourite styling – wide linen trousers teamed with a sophisticated oversized matching long trench.
