Something Super Special!

It’s not every day one comes across something really unique and beautiful but the newly opened mir shop in Tiefenbrunnen certainly has lots to chose from. Aren’t the broaches shown above simply awesome – at first glance I thought this was a Japanese design and then realising the artist – Mireille came from Switzerland I saw Swiss mountain motif’s in her most meticulously designed broaches. (nb: broaches are the ultimate coat accessory this Fall!)

What I really liked is that all the jewellery is either gold or silver, with the exception of her copper bracelets – nothing plated, just the pure metal. Each peace is unique Mireille has a real passion for stones and will design or change an existing ring if you like (I can see I will be coming back for this ;-)).

 

I love the fact that Mireille even models for her own jewellery – bringing out the special mood of each of her fab creations.

It’s not only jewellery you find here but also the most delicate original china from Andrea Baumann…

and hand made glass vases from Clemens Schillinger..

and topping it all off  I was super happy to find the Mayer Peace collection I had fallen in love with  a couple of years ago at  Blickfang in Zurich  – see one of FunkyForty’s very first posts about “Fashion Making a Difference“.

If like me you live on the other side of town you might like to turn your trip to Tiefenbrunnen into a day trip.

Start with a visit to mir, then take a tour through Mühlerama museum, replemish  with a meal at Blaue Ente and finish the day with a show at Millers Studio – a perfect day!
