Luckily the warmer weather is holding on. All the same you can really feel that Autumn is here and it’s time to move towards our Winter wardrobes.

Zurich has a little “Fashion Week” air about it this week with the bi-annual Mode Suisse show on Monday and exciting PKZ Fashion Night coming up on Thursday 6th September. Do hope any of you living in Zurich have marked that one in your diaries! Always a great night out!

Today’s outfit is Marco Polo and will also be shown on the runway at the PKZ show on Thursday 6th September – one more reason to pop along for some fun!

Both houndstooth and red are huge on the trend list this Autumn. Keep reading to find out the secret to perfecting your houndstooth look this Autumn.

 

The Secret to Perfecting Your Houndstooth Look this Autumn

On the fly houndstooth gives the impression of going with everything. Truth be told you could probably wear it with everything too if this is what you choose.

However to really perfect your houndstooth look there is one basic thing to consider – colour! As simple as that. Take a colour that’s in your houndstooth item and match the rest of your look around it.

Take this coat as an example – blue and burgundy red houndstooth. To make the look really work I could choose to team the coat with either of these colours.

You guessed right – I decided to team up with red. I haven’t given up on bright red just yet but burgundy is making a huge come back this coming Autumn.

Sometimes it’s the little things that count and this is especially true with this outfit – note the matching clutch (L&E)  and shoes (similar available here).

I know this post is about houndstooth but can’t help including my tip for wearing a non tailored dress. Simply team it up with a cross body bag and let the bag do the talking!

This is an old Louis Vuitton bag of mine. The strap is a little short. However being small I get away with wearing it as a cross body. If you’re taller it is definitely worth wearing a longer strapped cross body bag (cute example to buy now here).
