Secret escape to Stuttgart

The fab thing about Zurich is how fast one can escape from it and feel like you’re in a totally different world. One of my family’s favourite escapes is Stuttgart – 2.5 hours drive (OK don’t calculate average speed here – smile), and we are already in our new world – Stuttgart.

If 2.5 hours drive seems long a lovely friend of mine Dale from SavvySpice has written a super post Secrets of the Autobahn.

Why do we like Stuttgart so much? We love the fact that there seems to be something crazy happening each time we go there – this weekend the girls were out there doing Kondi training – so fun to watch, made me want to join!IMG_8302_Fotor

Favourite 3  Sights to see:

1) Schloss Solitude

We once went there over Easter and had the most amazing brunch – highly recommendable!

2) Weissenhofmuseum

An absolute must for anyone with the slightest interest in Architecture, particularly Le Corbusier.

3) Porsche Museum

Once again you don’t have to be a car fan to go here – the architecture alone is awesome – try the Christophorus Restaurant!

Favourite Hotels:

1) Steigenberger – because it is so close and central, lovely rooms and awesome staff!44522_SHR_GrafZeppel_005293c03a72a8562e6b98

2) Le Meridien – you have to walk through the Schloss park to get into town but I am a total fan of the wellness area and it has lovely restaurants.

Hi! I’m Yvonne, a 40 something (wink) Kiwi, living in Zurich. I love fashion, travel, shopping and food – believing chocolate will cure almost anything!

  1. Thanks so much for the shout out Yvonne and I LOVE this post because Stuttgart looks like such a nice place to visit and it’s definitely the weather now for indoor pools so the hotel must have been a nice time. 🙂
