Paris Discoveries

Hi Everyone,

There really is much more to being a true fashionista than meets the eye. One of those things has to be the unsaturable joy in discovering new brands. Especially whilst sauntering the streets of a fabulous city like Paris!

This time walking through the area around Place Colette brought me to a wonderful new shoe store Avellino. Better still, walking inside I find myself talking to Charly, the owner and designer of the shoes! Wow how often does that ever happen!!!

I really loved the fact that despite being fabulous designs, made with exquisite attention to detail the pricing is still fair an within budget. I couldn’t leave the shop without taking the cute black booties in photos above and below.

Walking further down the same road I came across the cutest store with special handmade jewellery and hair accessories – Anna Rivka. I fell in love with her couture pieces – affordable yet ever so special.

Keep reading to find out more about my Paris discoveries.

Paris Discoveries

Avellino

AVELLINO is a Parisian brand that draws its inspiration from the French Art de Vivre, industrial design and architecture. Each shoe has a real story behind it.

Charly the founder and manager likes to point out that he is second generation shoe maker as his Father too was in the shoe making business. Family roots go back to Portugal so you will see a lot of Portuguese influence in shoe designs as well as characteristics inspired by Paris. Such as the weaving you can see in the shoe here:

Inspired by the architecture of the Royal Palace nearby.

Check out the following delicate sandals with Portuguese influenced heels:

The timeless models, reinterpreted with a particular attention for handicraft details. See the finishing of the sandals below:

Love the new take on sneakers…

The cute boots…

Check out the online store here for more.

Of course the full collection can be found in Paris – certainly worth a look the next time you visit Paris!

Anna Rivka

Once again I got to meet Anna herself, the owner and creative designer of Anna Rivka. There is something so enriching about actually meeting the designers behind these lovely brands. Her range of jewellery covers all budgets and many tastes.

Age-old techniques are used for making her jewellery. She has carefully selected craftspeople such as a metal hammersmith whose expertise dates back to 1828, and a gilder whose technical brilliance has been transmitted from father to son for over 150 years.

I loved her reasonably priced couture pieces. The roses are inspired by her own garden. Of course it wasn’t possible to leave without a new hair clip and matching ring…

    1. Thank you Amrei, yes those Portuguese heels are super pretty I agree… could have easily walked out of that store with many more pairs of shoes 🙂

  1. Cheerful colors! Great choices! Still loving your orange skirt and sock sneakers. I have a similar pair in all black. So sleek and easy to wear.

I especially love the Avellino flat and sling back and I will keep them in mind for inspiration as I shop.

I also love the camel boots. I noticed that you have a lovely taupe bag that looks perfect with your skin. I find it hard to find a flattering taupe or flattering camel for my skin tone. These are important, calming, always in good taste colors that can quietly make a woman look vibrant in the proper shade. I would love to see a blog about how to find the ideal shades.

  2. very nice and two different real interesting Stores and you can see those are at least handcrafted I love it

  3. Girl that is the absolute best news! When you find out that a new brand is affordable! Sometimes I’m willing to splurge on vacation, but
it’s so much better to find affordable things!
