The time has come to have a serious look at which basics are going to form the backbone of our Fall/Winter wardrobes. I always find that investing in 3 – 4 good quality clothing items at the beginning of each new season make a huge difference. Adding these to older pieces is a fabulous way of creating fresh new outfits whilst still making use of what you already have.
Two pieces which are certainly not going to be missing in my wardrobe this Fall are a leather coat and long chunky knit cardigan. I picked up these pieces from one of my favourite shops in Zurich Golden Carrot Shoes and More.

Not Without a Leather Coat and Chunky Long Knit
The long chunky knit:
This is seriously the one piece many of us will be living in this coming Fall/Winter. There are so many ways to style it. Simply thrown over t-shirt and trousers like I’m wearing it today. Alternatively throw over your favourite Summer dress – a cheats way to let you carry on with that Summer feeling a little longer.
I’ve definitely got a thing about brown/chocolate just now. Love combining it with black and cream or light grey.
Wearing this long cardigan makes me feel like I have my duvet wrapped around me all day long – what could be cosier than that!
For a more sophisticated look try belting your chunky knit and teaming it up with a lovely long Winter scarf.
There Leather Coat
There’s something special about a leather coat. It simply makes every outfit look expensively put together.
I particularly love the way this coat has a rounded edging and is ever so slightly longer at the back.
