Newest Swiss Secret at the Royal Savoy Lausanne

Hi everyone hope you’re having a fab day!

Just in case you’re looking for a little inspiration here’s a little look at one of Switzerland’s newest secrets – the newly renovated Royal Savoy in Lausanne! After $100million makeover you can be sure it is worth a visit!

Only 2.5 hours drive from Zurich and lucky to be invited to try out their new Spa. I could not think of a better thing to do to escape yet another rainy day in Zurich!

DSC_0682The spa itself was like stepping into an 1’500 square meter Asian paradise…

There is however much more than simply the spa to get excited about…this wonderful majestic building right in the middle of Lausanne boasts (from the higher floors) a wonderful view over Lac Lemon, Lausanne itself and the Alps.

Built in 1909, the Royal Savoy has a prestigious history with the Spanish royal family making it their home whilst in exile during the Second World War and King Bhumibol of Thailand also regularly residing there. In the 1990’s rock stars like Joe Cocker and Phil Collins stayed there whilst headlining at the nearby Montreux Jazz Festival.

Come, have a little tour and see what’s on offer now:

Sample some fabulous food from the bar or brasserie. Michelin star chef Marc Haeberlin works as signature chef with executive chef Julien Krauss – ensuring michelin star quality food at an affordable price.

For those who enjoy a cigar there’s a special smoking lounge and you can even rent your own drawer for storing your very personal selection of cigars…a tip for the locals.

All rooms are done in the utmost of fabulous plush fabrics. Modern interiors by Maria Vafiadis of MKV Design in London.

In summary I am sold and can really recommend either a day trip or overnite stay to this fabulous hotel. If you are staying overnite check out the fabulous trips you can do such as taking a boat across the lake into France to visit Evian.

Book your stay at the Royal Savoy Lausanne here.
