Hi Everyone,
There seems to often be a reason to visit Basel – a city in Switzerland that borders onto France and has the Rhine flowing through it. Basel is also famous for the annual international art fair “Art Basel” which showcases the art of over 4’000 artists.
This week I was there for the opening of a pop up on top of the Post building: L’avventura. A great place to enjoy cocktails and party whilst enjoying a view of the city. It is open Wednesday – Sunday each week until the end of 2023.
As a real bonus I also got to stay in the lovely new Mövenpick Hotel which only just opened last year. Situated a stones throw away from the main Basel train station, the Mövenpick Hotel has 231 rooms and 30 suites across 19 storeys. Each room/suite has floor to ceiling windows.
What an experience it was staying in room 1107 which has a bathroom with the best city view ever. I normally never bath – definitely preferring a good shower. However even I wasn’t going to miss the experience of having a bath with a view this good.
The design throughout the hotel is also quite cool and fitting for a city hosting Art Basel. Plenty of plants in the common areas let your mind pretend you’re in a tropical resort rather than in the middle of a busy city.
Friendly and efficient staff made my stay even more special. No request was too much.
Rather than writing too much, keep scrolling for my favourite 10 impressions of: “Mövenpick Hotel Basel – the Coolest Bath with a View & Design Hotel in Town”
Note that I was in Basel for the pop up event so did not have a chance to enjoy the Puro restaurant, gym or wellness areas – something I am saving for another visit – smile.
