Hi Everyone,
…and just like that, Milan Fashion Week SS27 kicks off with the spectacular bang of Prada.
What a fabulous collection. Colourful pumps were everywhere, pop socks are back, and so are classic knitted knee-highs. It seems it’s even perfectly acceptable to channel your granny with slightly wrinkled socks – smile.
I’m loving the pops of pink throughout the collection. Fuchsia, in particular, is making a strong comeback. The message is clear: pink deserves a place in your wardrobe this coming Autumn/Winter too. There’s something undeniably chic about pairing a black coat with pretty pink slingback pumps.
Another detail catching my eye was the return of large oversized cuffs, turned back over coat and sweater sleeves. A fresh yet wearable feature that we can all have fun incorporating into our wardrobes.
Tuesday also marked Glenn Martens’ finale for Diesel. It will be fascinating to see what he brings to Maison Margiela. A fun fact: Diesel founder Renzo Rosso has credited Martens with restoring the brand’s fashion relevance and delivering its strongest profitability in a decade. Will he work the same magic at Maison Margiela?
In any case, the Fashion Week mood is well and truly underway, and everyone seems delighted to be reconnecting after the summer. The final photo captures exactly what a fabulous group of fashion women looks like during Fashion Week.
