OMG – Milan Fashion Week certainly started with a mixed mood of relief and anxiety this season.
Relief because the day before Milan experienced one of the worst flooding ever. In fact the storms were so bad that I even found myself semi stranded in Lugano as I tried to make my way down to Milan earlier today. Fortunately my dear friend Nadia was in the same boat and together we found the best solution out – smile!
Anxiety as we were all outside praying it didn’t rain as hard again as it had the day before. Thankful as the Milan transport strikes had finished and the riots at the train station were also over – for now. As I was checking into my hotel the reception staff said that the day before had been like the end of the world to them with the combination of strikes, bad weather and riots…
However we’re here for fashion and this week FASHION rules, so lets take a look at the top picks and trends spotted today…
A few standout trends included the revival of long blazers styled with minimal layering. Knee-high boots made a confident comeback, adding edge and elegance to the season’s looks. On the colour front, off-white and rich chocolate tones dominated the palette. The romance of silky dresses paired with sweeping coats continued to captivate—an effortlessly chic combination that’s clearly here to stay.
