Hi Everyone,
Oh la la, back in Milan day 1 Fall/Winter 2025 Fashion Week and the first thing to hit me on the street style front is fashion’s latest dirty secret… Is it really a dirty secret though?
Real fur is back in vogue, especially vintage fur. The reason I ask if this is really so bad is the proven fact that most faux fur is made from petroleum-based synthetic materials that aren’t biodegradable. Destined for decades in landfill. Knowing this one could certainly say that vintage real fur is the much better option. Time to hunt out any old fur you might still have in the family!
Burgundy is also hot, hot on the trend list with so many of today’s outfits featuring monochrome burgundy. It was also teamed up with almost every other colour imaginable. So much so that I am now going to say that burgundy is the new black of the season!
Big bags are definitely back on the season. We saw them creeping into the fashion scene last season but this season one might almost say they are dominating the streets, although there are still plenty of delicate smaller bags to be spotted as well. Personally my heart has fallen for the new enlarged Jackie Bag.
The one fashion staple that I missed seeing on the streets today were sneakers… It seemed as though any shoe imaginable is fashionable. Especially platform heels are making a comeback. Just sneakers were missing. I’m hoping that my observation of today was merely due to rainy weather and that sneakers will surface again as the week evolves.
