Voila, with Fashion Weeks totally finished now I’ve finally had time to write the promised “Milan Fashion Week FW 20 – Runway Highlights & Trends Part 2” post for you.
Runway news – we see patterned fabrics taking a back-step here. They are still there and some brands such as Luisa Beccaria will always specialise in their pretty floral prints. However in general non patterned fabrics have been favoured.
In part 1 we talk about black, winter white, camel, petrol blue and emerald green being the colours that rule the runway. The same applies here however yellow and red tones are also featured in each collection – even if not necessarily shown here.
Chunky cable knit sweaters will be keeping us cosy next Fall/Winter along with bulky knit scarves. Heeled sandals to finish a winter outfit remain one of the seasons sexiest tricks. Whilst long long over the knee boots were favoured by Sportmax, the knee high boot is making a real come back next season.
There is something inside me that says it’s now time to focus more on the suit. Especially double breasted – these are almost a seasonal uniform for Fall/Winter 20/21. Use a belt to complete almost any outfit. Finally there’s defiantly something going on with the fringe… make sure you hold on tight to any fringe bag you currently own.

Milan Fashion Week FW 20 – Runway Highlights & Trends Part 2
Anteprima is an Italian brand that started in 1993, showing in Milan Fashion Week for many years now. Each season they come up with something wonderfully different and new.
This collection is called “Unframed Happiness”, as from their poem:
“The sense of happiness
of joy in our freedom”
Sportmax will always remain a favourite of mine. Love their timeless styling always with a bit of an edge.
Interesting to see the move aways from crossbody to hand held bags. Make a statement with your bag. It doesn’t have to team up with the rest of your outfit.
Note the fabulously over long boots.
Cristiano Burani studied Fashion in New York and after had collaborations with companies such as La Perla, Bluemarine, Versace, Lui Jo, Michael Kors and Benetton.
In this collection Cristiano reflected his view on society and where we stand today in his collection. A real sense of originality seen on the runway.
There are hours and hours of work behind each garment. He placed emphasis on eliminating fabric waste. Giving new life to refuses that would normally be thrown away.
A show that truly melted the heart with so many beautiful pieces…
Ermanno Scervino always wanted to be a designer, even as a very young child. His claim is to design the clothes right before the women realise they want them. If you look at this collection I’m sure there will be a piece you want too!
Luisa Beccaria has been operating since the 80’s, She has dressed many famous people in her life including Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Halle Berry & Madonna.
Since 2006 creations have been designed together with her daughter Lucilla Bonaccorsi.
This presentation was held in the cutest cafe/restaurant in Milano – LuBar Via Palestro, 16.
I love the story behind Elisabetta Franchi. Born as the 4h of 5 children in Bologna, Italy and raised by a single mother, she really had to work incredibly hard to get where she is now. A true inspiration to us all – proving you can reach anything if you work hard enough with your passion.
Her collection this season is once again a reflection of herself and her many facets. Starting with the suited, corporate pieces, then a cute selection of feminine but funky free time looks and then of course finishing with tulle and wonderful evening gowns. Sitting through the show was like being in a fairytale story with a happy ending.
