La Primavera – How to Dress for Spring & Stay Cosy!

Hi Everyone,

Doesn’t Spring just always remind you of a piece of art? It does me, hence starting the title of this post with ‘La Primavera‘. A World famous painting by the artist Sandro Botticelli, ย an allegory based on the lush growth of Spring.

Despite Spring truly being such a beautiful time of year, dressing right and staying cosy can be a real challenge. ย As soon as those sunny Spring days come the first thing most of us do is ย dress in lighter colours. So it’s important to have light coloured pieces in your wardrobe of varying thicknesses. Layering is of course another Spring essential. This is the season of chunky knits that can easily be taken off and on again. I also like to have super thin figure hugging tops under whatever I wear.

Todays outfit is from the new Spring collection available at Maison Gassmann and is made up of 3 basics I just wouldn’t want to be without in Spring. Although the online store is great, if you are in Zurich at any time I can really recommend visiting the new Maison Gassmann store at Poststr. 5-7, 8001 Zurich, just by Paradeplatz.

The first step to staying warm in Spring is making sure you have a pretty yet chunky knit that goes with most of your other Spring pieces.

I’m totally in love with this mustard yellow knit. It comes with a matching belt so you can either wear with your own leather belt or use the original one as in the next picture.

Having a bit of a windy hair day…

The next piece for staying cosy yet Spring like this season would have to be a pair of white wide legged jeans.

Check out here for a selection of wide legged jeans available online. Personally this Spring I am living in both a white and blue pair of wide legged jeans. Both are ankle length with frayed bottoms.

Last but not least would have to be the linen shirt. There’s something about a good quality linen shirt that simply adds value to every outfit.

Team your linen shirt with skirts, jeans, shorts or even wear them over dresses to create a new look.

A lovely selection of linen shirts can be found online here.
