Last week I was lucky enough to experience one of the fabulous new Vitality suites in the Swissotel Kursaal Bern. My dear friend Fatima joined me which totally added to the fun. We also had the most magical evening in one of the Winter rooftop igloos.
Swissotel Kursaal Bern was opened in March 2021. With a whole new vitality and sustainability concept to the property. The coolest being when I found a personal trainer in my cupboard of course – haha. So great that I had to promise to take my hubby there too!

I Found a Personal Trainer in My Cupboard – Swissotel Kursaal Bern
Introduction:
The Swissotel Kursaal Bern is situated on the hill just at the edge of Bern city centre so you have fabulous views over the rooftops and cathedral of Bern.
Just under one and a half hours drive from Zurich, there’s plenty of underground parking. Plus a tram and bus stop right outside the entrance which will take you into the centre. When you check in you receive a complementary transport card for the city of Bern.
Alternatively a 5 minute walk across the bridge will take you right into the centre of Bern.
The hotel also has it’s own Casino and a huge conference centre containing 28 different meeting rooms.

Rooms:
The hotel has 171 newly renovated rooms including 2 Vitality Suites. All rooms are decorated in purposefully selected calming pastel tones. Emphasis being placed on using sustainable materials such as natural stone and local wood.
Above you see the lounge area of our Vitality suite. As we walked in we saw a row of neat cupboards. However opening them to our fabulous surprise we found a hidden fitness centre. Just push one button on the TV screen and up pops the cutest personal trainer who easily showed us exactly how to use the different equipment and gave us fabulous, easy to understand exercises to do.
This has to be the coolest way out to stay fit whilst on vacation!!!

I’m currently having great fun continuing to use the products at home – such a nice way to keep that holiday feeling going a little longer – smile!
Breakfast in bed with the pretty view is certainly not to be missed.
Vitality – Fitness Centre:
In addition to the 2 Vitality Suites there is a fabulous 150 square meter fitness room with every fitness machine you could possibly dream of including a band new SensoPro …
For those who prefer outdoor fitness there is also a jogging map and special destination walks you can ask about.
Restaurants:
There are two restaurants downstairs:
Restaurant Yù – with an Asian dream buffet inspire you, choose in your own time and enjoy it. Watch the chefs at work while you eat…
Restaurant Giardino – a lovely Italian restaurant which also has tables in the garden overlooking a pretty Koy pond in Summer.
Rooftop Grill:
In Summer this is a rooftop grill with a fabulous view overlooking the rooftops and the cathedral of Bern.
Now however the space has been converted into a Rooftop Igloo restaurant. 8 romantic Igloos each with space for 8 people. A whole Igloo can be booked from a group of 6.
No attention to detail has been spared with a unique chandelier in each igloo, beautiful sheepskin covers on the seats, linen napkins and blankets and a heated cherry cushion at your disposal.
The menu is a Hot Pot. Choose between the regular or Vegan version.
