How to Power Your Pink

Hi there!

Pretty pinks featured huge throughout Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Weeks, seen both on the runways and  streets. Even mens wear is going to see the come back of pink – remember the 90’s when basically every man had a pink work shirt in his closet – well those times are coming back!

Watch the snippets above from Fashion Week – do your feelings change as you look at the different shades and combinations of these pink outfits?

Pink can be anything from nurturing, non-threatening, warm, an indication of lack of power/self-worth, right through to one of the most powerful colours there is! The real glory of pink is that there’s a shade that will suit every single person….there is no such thing as pink not suiting you…it’s all in the shade and how you combine it!

How to Power Your Pink

Bolder pinks automatically ooze more power but you have to be careful as it can easily be construed as “cheap”. By pairing your pink with black or grey the power stakes of your outfit are instantly increased – as easy as that – so go for it!

Pink with Grey:

Touch of grey and then bordeaux bag (AGL) to lift an otherwise very soft outfit. Note that it doesn’t really matter the pinks aren’t perfectly matched – a little contrast is always fun.

The black instantly adds a more powerful feeling to the whole outfit.

  1. Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. I like pink with gray or brown. In the 80s, I liked it with black. But I am not into the pink plus yellow. Great looks!
