How to Make the Most of Your Festive Wardrobe

Hi Everyone,

Hope December is being good to you – smile! Today is all about festive season clothing. Do you normally stick to pretty dresses during the festive season or are you also open to wearing festive co-ordinates?

Especially for those of you travelling during this period, wearing festive co-ordinates can end up being a real life saver. Giving you many more different looks than a dress would.

Keep on reading to find out more about my 5 simple tips for how to make the most of your festive wardrobe.

How to Make the Most of Your Festive Wardrobe

1. Co-ordinates

Guess I already gave this tip away right in the introduction to this post. The important thing to remember with co-ordinates is to mix-match them in all directions. Too often we buy a top with bottom together and then tend to “only” ever wear them as an ensemble.

2. Pimping up the old

Of course a new year calls for new festive looks, however instead of buying everything new search for just one new special piece like a top or skirt and then match it, with as many items you already own as possible.

3. Adding a scarf and playing with it.

Notice how in each of the pictures I am wearing the same scarf but wearing it differently. Scarves, especially if they have a certain size can be used as an accessory or transformed to becoming a major part of the outfit.

In the picture above it takes over from the top and the top “per-say” becomes a secondary piece in the whole outfit. Whist in the picture with a skirt the scarf is a mere accessory and the top itself is in the forefront.

4. The statement bag

No matter how expensive or not your outfit may be, a statement bag is simply the icing on the cake so to speak. A statement bag will make any outfit look expensive.  PROVIDED – and this is important, especially now with the trend to buy vintage bags – provided the bag is in top notch condition and does not look worn.

5. Shoes

You can wear the same outfit but simply match it with different shoes to give it a whole new look.

Imagine if I would team the outfit above with pink shoes to match the pink in the scarf, a pink headband and bag… Voila, to most others you meet this would then register as a totally new outfit!

Win-Win-Win. I adore that big scarf by the way. A fabulous one that you can use to style classy, comfy and everything in between. Love, Lieske
