Hi Everyone,
Tulle is one of those things traditionally associated with formal occasions such as weddings or gala events. However today a tulle skirt is something you can truly wear anywhere and whenever your heart desires.
Taking my tulle skirt on holiday with me to New Zealand, I will always style it somewhat differently to how I would in Europe. Perhaps it’s the Kiwi in me but there is something fun about giving formal pieces of clothing that certain “Antipidean” touch.

How I Wear My Tulle In New Zealand
When my parents first moved to New Zealand in the ’60’s one of the things that my Dad loved the most was how casual everyone was dressed. Most of all he enjoyed being able to wear shorts all year round, even in the middle of Winter. Not that I would recommend that today as it does cool down somewhat in Winter, even in Auckland.
Fashions have of course, like everywhere else in the world, changed a lot here over the years. But the one thing that hasn’t changed is the fact that New Zealanders choose to dress casually.
In New Zealand you can wear sneakers with basically everything. Some people even get married in sneakers. So wearing a tulles skirt with sneakers is a pretty normal thing to do.
A cropped top is also the best as it shows off the waistline. If you prefer baggy tops, these work too with tulle skirts but you do need to tuck them in a little somewhere. Otherwise the whole look may end up being one shapeless mess. My favourite is to tuck baggy tops in on one side.
