How I Colour my Winter

Hi Everyone,

Neutrals are a big thing this Winter, however sometimes there are those days you just have to go out and reach for a bit of colour to brighten that Winter mood.

Whilst wearing all black or nude with a small splash of colour can work wonders in warmer months, Winter is a different matter. Todays post is a bit of fun. I’m sharing with you how I colour my Winter. My “rules of thumb” and a few of my favourite colourful pieces.

How I Colour my Winter

First tip is to make sure whatever colour I’m wearing makes a real statement. I go for bright colours.  I do wear pastels in Winter but not when I am in the mood for a colour statement.

The bright orange and green above are perfect statement colours that’ll like your mood on the darkest of days – smile!

Second tip is to use knitted items for colour. They can be worn in so many different ways. You just need a little imagination. This poncho for example is also worn as a scarf in the pictures above.

Third tip is to team up coloured pieces with denim. Often colour is teamed up with black in an outfit. This can work but can also end up with a harsh overall look. Denim softens the bright colours and tones the whole outfit down a little.

Fourth tip is to stick to a maximum of two bold colours and then team the rest of your outfit with denim and neutral tones. Note my favourite town boots worn here too!
