Hi Everyone,
Hotel Chateau Gütsch is a luxury 4 star fairytale castle hotel that you see up on the hill whenever visiting Lucerne. I always look up to it and start thinking of stories such as “Sleeping Beauty” or “Rapunzel”. Interestingly the building is actually inspired by Schloss Neuschwanstein in Bavaria.
There are 37 individual rooms and suites in Hotel Chateau Gütsch with no one room being the same as the other. My tip is to ask for one of the newer rooms which have a large terrace and are close to the restaurant. There is a lovely night turn down service which is a really nice touch.

Hotel Chateau Gütsch – New Fine Dining With the Best Views Over Lucerne
After several months of renovation the Hotel Chateau Gütsch restaurant Lumières has reopened just this month. The beautiful pastel interior design with opulent colourful chandeliers gives you a happy lighthearted feeling.
The wallpaper, has been specially designed for Lumières and made by hand, with an emphasis of bringing the feeling of nature indoors.
The huge windows make it possible to also have a beautiful view of Lucerne and the lake whilst eating indoors.
Of course eating on the terrace outside the view is even more spectacular. See the view from our table in the picture above.
Italian born Ludovico De Vivo is the chef of the reopened restaurant Lumières. Initially taught and inspired by his mother’s great cooking. Later working in top-class establishments in Italy, Switzerland and Tokyo.
The menu consists of regional delicacies with classics from European and Asian cuisines. With many vegetarian alternatives. There is a great wine card and super friendly Sommelier ready to help with your choice from the great selection in the wine cellar.
We decided to go for a classic Chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection. Dessert is certainly not to be missed – check out the amazing pavlova…

Conclusion:
We really loved our stay at Hotel Chateau Gütsch. The staff were all super friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and the views from both our room and restaurant unbeatable – the best in the whole of Lucerne.
I would totally recommend staying here as a great weekend getaway.
