With a new month comes the new update of the FunkyForty Favourite shops. October is certainly an exciting month when it comes to shopping as all the new Autumn/Winter collections have mostly already arrived in the shops.
I am super excited to have two new stores on the FunkyForty Favourite Shops page this month: Paparazzi & Bla Bla (located in Zug but the shop alone makes the journey to Zug worth while), and Orlando Maroquinier (an amazing bespoke leather bag craftsman).

Paparazzi & Bla Bla
A fabulous collection of special items you won’t find in many other stores at all. Perfect for that fabulous cocktail outfit or something fabulous for every day. I can guarantee that every piece you buy here will end up being a real statement addition to your wardrobe.
Michal is the owner of the store – unlike many other stores you will always find her onsite. One of the most amazing stylists I have ever met. She truly has fashion in her blood through and through. Make a point of checking out here exclusive bags and jewellery.
2. Orlando Maroquinier
Situated in Zurich’s old town close to Bellevue Orlando Maroquinier’s shop is a real must visit for any bag lover. Not only can you get your own bespoke bag made for you, you can also attend one of his classes and make your very own bag.
After graduating from University in business administration, Orlando decided to swap his suit to follow his passion for traditional craftsmanship and being on the road. He acquired the savoir-faire of making handbags from a traditional maroquinerie-formation in Paris – the city of love, the city of lights and home to the most skilled artisans in leather craftsmanship.
3. Apresto Fashion
Located in the Witikon centre with loads of parking this is one shop that will basically cater for all shapes and budgets. With new collections coming into the store weekly you never get bored of checking out what’s new in store.
4. Atelier Avanzar
Atelier Avanzar – a bag label created by Margarita, a lovely woman from Ecuador now living in Switzerland. All of her bags are hand made in Ecuador by local women. There is also a special Avanzar foundation that has been set up and profits from the bags go to this foundation which supports sick children and women in need in Ecuador.
Every bag is unique and made on demand according to individual customer colour and fabric selection. Available online.
I love the new selection of small cross body bags just perfect for your phone and credit card – smile!
5. Golden Carrot Shoes and More
Situated in Seefeld, I love going to Golden Carrot Shoes due to the huge variety of colourful items. There is always a skirt or dress that simply has to be tried on. A new bag or hat to discover and jewellery that you can not leave the shop without.
Currently you’ll find the most awesome selection of boots in store.

This is so good! I can’t wait until we can travel again! It’s so hard to find time to search out shopping in Switzerland, I look forward to checking out these shops. I think I’ve walked past Orland’s shop everyday for a month last visit and never noticed! Definitely a reason to hop off the train next time I go through Witikon and Seefeld, too! Love the yellow, by the way! Although that blue school blazer (!?!?) outfit is still my favourite! Thanks for brightening up my day!
