Another month already gone by since my last Funky Forty Favourite Shops update.
The FunkyForty Favourite shops page came about in an effort to support small businesses during this difficult time. Going forward this will continue to be an easy and interesting way for you to discover new creations and stores.
I’m particularly excited at the lovely new store this month – Maison Gassmann. It is actually one of the oldest family owned and run fashion businesses in Zurich. A favourite store of mine since arriving in Zurich many years ago.
Keep reading for more about “FunkyForty Favourite Shops June’21 Update”. This month I have 12 fabulous shops to showcase!

Maison Gassmann also has the most awesome sale on at present plus a lovely collection of pre Fall 2021
Updates from other Favourite Shops:
Beaubelle is a Swiss Skin Care Brand which researches, develops and produces its skin care products in Switzerland.
I have been using their products for a couple of months now and really notice a difference.
On 30th June a new blog post will come out about “5 Non-Surgical Ways to Reverse Signs of Ageing Around the Eyes” so stay tuned.
I’ll be writing more tips and tricks about Beaubelle products on funkyforty.com over the next few months so stay tuned!
3. Marina Anouilh
Situated in the heart of Gstaad’s central shopping street. Marina Anouilh is a concept store with a certain magic to it. Created by Marina Anouilh herself, every corner tells a new story. You walk in, see something you like, discover the story and your heart melts.
My current love affair is her fabulous double denim – full post here:
4. Golden Carrot Shoes
Loving the new Ibiza style selection at Golden Carrot Shoes – and of course there is a super Summer sale going on right now too so be sure to stop by for more…
5. Maru Design
MARU Design is a relatively new online interior design store started by Liisa and Laura:
In their one words they say:
“- sisters, mothers, professionals from consulting and marketing and deeply passionate about Estonian independent design. Nice to meet you!
The perfect place for your must have Summer outside entertaining essentials – more tips here.
6. La Tienda
So lucky to have La-Tienda just around the corner from where I live. A great place to shop for all my basics but do check out the latest Summer vacation packing tips here.
Check out the online store too www.la-tienda.ch
7. Atelier Avanzar
Atelier Avanzar remains one of my Favourite shops. New adorable pastel bags are in for Spring. I love the fact that they are made by women in Ecuador with a foundation behind helping women and sick children in need as well as a school educating women how to start their own business and make a good living for themselves.

8. Suenia Zurich
Visiting Paris one Fashion Week several years ago was when first came across a selection of wonderful bags by Caroline Dechamby – a Dutch self taught artist living in the wonderful Swiss mountain area of Crans Montana. We have been friends ever since.
If you like art then having one of Caroline Dechamby’s bags is almost a must have as it quite simply is the same as having a piece of art on your arm.
10. Marcus Marienfeld
Marcus Marienfeld’s glasses that are completely handmade in Switzerland are super special. The one place you can get bespoke glasses especially designed for you!
I am so in love with my cute sunglasses – super light and the quality is truly something well above any glasses previously owned. See more information here.
Situated right in the heart of Zurich by Paradeplatz, next to the Savoy Hotel and opposite Gucci. Landolt-Arbenz is an exclusive pen and stationary shop. Unique within the whole of Switzerland. A magical world of writing instruments, leather goods and stationary unfolds before your very eyes as you enter the store.
A clever woman buys her diamonds from Baunat!
Not to worry if you don’t like to buy a diamond purely online. There are a few showrooms for customers. See here for a location near you.
