The good news is that floral dresses remain one of Spring 2016 hottest items…albeit with a bit of a twist. This season we are going longer, trends are moving towards the darker florals and of course fabrics have to be soft and floaty.
This one from one of my favourite NZ designers currently available in eclectic in Zurich is one of my favourites – the length is superb, making it a great dress for either day or evening wear. The dress alone is sleeveless and looks like a great beach dress but teamed up with long sleeved shirt as seen in this picture make it the perfect dress to start wearing now already. The trick of course is to make sure you team your floral dress with the right shoes. Being a long dress you want to make sure you wear heels, otherwise you run the risk of looking shorter than you actually are. These Rag and Bone sandals also found in eclectic provide the perfect finish to the perfect long summer dress.
If long dresses are not your thing or you prefer lighter summer colours then this pretty pink dress is the perfect answer:
Being silly here by teaming it up with two hats – the point being never underestimate the impact of a good hat in summer. Not only will it protect you from the sun, it will also give the perfect finish to any outfit.
Shoes are not such an issue with this style of floral dress – personally it made me want to find the nearest beach and run along it barefooted letting the dress float softly in the breeze… can’t wait for summer or next break in a warmer country!
To dress this up though I would recommend wearing pretty pink sandals with a chunky heel – knowing me I will be wearing All Stars with my floral dresses – smile.
Are you feeling inspired yet?
Looking forward to buying this seasons floral dress? If in Zurich I can only recommend you visit eclectic this week as they have the most awesome selection of pretty floral dresses – don’t procrastinate like me and find out the dress you looked at last week has just been sold – groan, oh so typical…
