Essential Summer Sale Shopping Rules!

Hi everyone hope the week has started off fab for you!

Unbelievable – feels like summer hasn’t even started and the Summer Sales are already in full bloom! Not all is as wonderful as it looks however! There is a lot to beware of during Sale time. There are nearly always those clothes which have been in the shop for years and are dragged out for every sale. Damaged items – often a super good price, you don’t see the damage until you get home and because it’s a sale item you can’t return it.

Check out an earlier post outlining 7 Hot Tips for Successful Sale Shopping

On the other hand there are also some great buys to be found on Sale. It’s a perfect time to look for special occasion wear for a party, ball or wedding you know is coming up.

My own Summer Sale Shopping:

Dress from The Kooples, so far only worn with boots because weather has not been hot hot but I can imagine high heeled strapy sandals for the evening or a pair of cute flats during the day.

Things you Should Buy on Sale this Summer:

  1. That designer dress you’ve been looking at but haven’t bought because of the price.
  2. Good quality work wear that doesn’t date (i.e. BOSS suit)
  3. Bathing suit – you’re going to need it for the holiday season so grab it if you find a nice one on sale
  4. Trends that are going to carry on through next fall as well – for this year it means:
    • the colours red and yellow
    • ruffles – anything with a slight gothic touch will see you through the coming fall trends
    • heeled booties
    • off the shoulder tops
    • lace dresses

A personal selection of 7 fab online sales that I would buy (given endless budget – hehe):

Perfect time to buy that classic designer dress –  Marni Dress was CHF 850 now CHF 340.

Black heeled booties are a real wardrobe staple so if you don’t own a pair yet or your old ones are looking tatty now is the time to splash out and get a super good deal:  Alexander Wang booties were CHF 1’135 now CHF 454

Isn’t this party dress adorable! Marchesa Notte was CHF 820 now CHF 492

This top is so cute – I may HAVE to get it – besides which it’s from Kiwi designer Rebecca Taylor was CHF 283 now CHF 212. Off the shoulder is a trend that is certain to stay for next summer too.

Cropped metallic trousers – super cute with the white blouse above and a pair of white converse…wait for it – this look is bound to turn up on my instagram soon (eek) – Ted Baker was £149 now £89
