Easiest Ever Caramel Fig Loaf

If your anything like me, you love super easy, minimal ingredient recipes that simply tastes great and turn out perfect the first time you try them.

This Caramel Fig Loaf is exactly one of those recipes. So quick and easy to make. Perfect for any spontaneous guests that might be popping by this coming Easter weekend. Just be sure to have a packet of soft dried figs ready in your pantry.

Easiest Ever Caramel Fig Loaf

Easiest Ever Caramel Fig Loaf

Preheat oven to 160°C and line a 10 x 20 cm tin with baking paper.

Ingredients:
  • 125g butter
  • 1/2 cup demara sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 & 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup golden syrup
  • 200g dried figs – sliced

Beat together butter and sugar

Then add eggs one at a time, mixing well.

Finally mix in remaining ingredients until well combined.

Press evenly over the base of the tin.

Bake for 1 hour and leave on a wire rack to cool.
