Leather dresses are not just about timeless elegance – they are about making bold fashion statements, Cornelia Weckherlin’s vibrant leather dresses, designed in Zurich, made in Italy are simply the most beautiful collection I have ever seen.

Cornelia has many more colours and styles in her store in Zillion, Zurich than shown in this article. Today however, I am focusing on how to style three of her gorgeous pieces. Simply perfect for the festive season or all year round!

Discovering and Styling the Most Beautiful Vibrant Leather Dresses

The Ravishing Red Leather Dress

A red leather dress is a real showstopper. Guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go.

It’s perfect for evening outings or special events. Truth be told I would also wear this to town during the day in Spring with cute sneakers.

Statement heels are really a must to complete the look. The cute little green bag is a good way to add a little extra fun however. This is also available at Cornelia Wickherlin’s shop.

For evenings and events however this red dress is best teamed with simple/small accessories. Minimalist jewellery works best here. I did however decide to wear pretty earrings from Bombay Birds. (Special 20% offer off earrings with code FunkyForty only for November 2024! )

 

 Green Leather Dress with Feathers

This playful yet sophisticated dress comes with a unique feather detail that adds a whimsical touch. It can easily be styled in two versatile ways.

With black turtleneck top as shown above. This makes it ideal for cooler weather while still adding an edge to the outfit. Either black or green heels work for this look. Note it is not so important that the shoes are a different green, although khaki is the one green I would stay away from for this particular dress.

To add a little funk you might even try teaming this with chunky black ankle boots or slim fitting black knee high boots. In the case of the latter I would replace the black stockings for a more skin tone.

Without black top. Wear the dress solo to showcase the feathers and the vibrant green colour. Perfect for a night out or a fashion-forward event.

In this case I would opt for a pop of colour in your choice of shoes and bag. I have gone for red here but orange or even dark purple could also be good options.

Heels really are needed here, unless you have super skinny ankles. In this case pretty flat ballerinas would also work. Note I have kept the jewellery to small gold accents but with the same pretty earrings as with the red dress.

 

Yellow/Cream Leather Dress

This dress is so cute – it makes me feel a little like Mary Quant.

Layer it with a black turtle neck to add contrast and warmth in Winter. This  combination is perfect for both casual and formal occasions, making the dress a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

Styled like this, this is the one dress that would even look good worn with chunky black loafers.

I’ve gone for a black bag here to keep the whole look stream lined and let the dress steal the party.

Then on a whim my dear friend Beatrice, (who took these photos for me), told me to wear the cream dress over the green one for effect.

OMG, teamed with green accessories this really does look ever so cute – who would have thought!

Cornelia tells me that it would probably be possible to order this dress with the feathers on the bottom so you don’t need to wear two dresses at once. Mind you it does give additional warmth – smile!
