Dare to go in – GAITO!

0144

I write this post because I really think that GAITO is one of those hidden shops in Zurich – if you walk through the old town you are of course bound to see it but more than likely to simply walk past without seeing the hidden treasures or meeting the really lovely staff that are so helpful when it comes to style ideas.

My first few years in Zurich I too  used to walk past GAITO – too afraid to go in as the window always reminded me of 50 Shades of Grey…then one day a friend of mine finally dragged me in and I walked out with the most wonderful John Richmond suit! He has moved away from the suited look but every item in his shop is made to absolute perfection.

I adore the sneakers he currently has in store:

Asked what started Gaito off in fashion he replies it was the fascination from watching his Mum give simple pieces of fabric to seamstresses and seeing the amazing clothing they managed to produce.

Gaito’s 3 top fashion tips:

1) A pair of ripped jeans belong in everyones wardrobe – I looked twice at him as I certainly don’t have any – my daughter and hubby would freak if I got them – but he is actually right – a pair of ripped jeans with something elegant on top – even Amal Clooney wears them and she has got to be one of the most stylish women out!

 2) A good leather jacket is another essential in everyone’s wardrobe – I totally agree with this – having bought one several years back and love to wear it especially with my tuile skirt 😉

3) A handbag should be more than just a bag – there should either by something funky about it or a hidden feature – I love the Dsquared bags currently in store:

My summary is that fashion is all about fun and sometimes it is fun to try something new – I think I will try ripped jeans (don’t tell my hubby) – remembering to wear chic on top.

Surprised at how I looked in leather – smile – not yet auditioning for 50 shades of grey 😉 did fall in love with the shoes.
