Hi Everyone,
Just had another wonderful weekend in Como. Staying at the most adorable boutique hotel – Albergo Terminus. My breath was taken away as I entered this amazing lounge area. A picture can not capture the real live magnificence of this room.
Only later did I find out that this was the very same room Gucci used as the shooting location of one of their collections last year!
Keep reading for an inside view of the hotel Albergo Terminus and tips when visiting Como. Especially how to get your husband to happily go shopping with you!
Como – When Gucci and FunkyForty choose the same Hotel and You can too!
A lovely Spring feeling came over us as we arrived. Seeing touches of yellow bloom with perfectly trimmed hedges and inviting loungers outside.
Just about to go in – great undercover parking. Perfect as Albergo Terminus is situated along the lake right in the middle of Como.

Once settled in our room it was time to go into Como itself for Apero at our favourite Enoteca Castiglioni
Traditionally our first dinner in Como will always be pizza coupled with a good bottle of Italian red wine at our favourite restaurant Vesper

The next day…
My favourite – starting the day with a delicious hotel breakfast buffet.
Now comes the part about how to get your husband to happily go shopping with you! It’s quite easy really. You simply let him have a little fun in his dream World. Then so thankful to you that he’ll become like putty in your hands – smile!
This meant joining the Pistenclub for a little fun in Monza for the morning. Set in the Monza Palace grounds this is really one of the prettiest race tracks with lots of fun escape possibilities… Of course it is my job to photograph!
I also love chatting to everyone else there. Met an amazing lady from Zurich – a lovely over “FunkyForty” who was out there on the race track giving the men a real run for their money in her Lamborghini! Then there was another adorable couple that have just moved to Singapore. Given my recent trips there you can imagine we had loads to talk about.
See that smile in top right. It translates to “yes Dear I will go shopping with you”. Well in reality it meant he sat and had a prosecco whilst I went and checked out the latest Italian trends… after all this is my job!
Back in Como…

This room is more like a little apartment complete with kitchen. Great for a longer stay.

Shopping
When in Como you really need to go to one of the Tessabit stores. In particular the Tess store is one with such a fab collection of items to suit so many styles and taste:
Locally designed and produced – MoresiComo Cashmere and Cotton. The owner refuses to have her wonderful designs sold anywhere else. I have a dress from here which is now 4 years old. Has been in the washing machine so many times and still looks like new! If you want a real souvenir from Como this is where to get it from.
Dinner
Tonight we ate at the hotel restaurant. First a few pre dinner photos…

Yay, we made it to the restaurant, which has a wonderful view of the lake!
When in Italy you do at least once have to try their crumbed veal Milanese. The meat is pounded super thin and bone left on.

Sunday morning…
Time to pack and go back to Zurich today. The weather is too inviting not to have a little rest in the garden first though…
