Baskets – The Simplest Answer To An Organised Home

Hi Everyone,

It is no exaggeration when I say I wouldn’t know where I would be without my collection of baskets throughout the home. At first glance no one ever notices them but then over time they realise just how cleverly they organise so much of my home.

For sure anyone with small kids needs baskets – they have to be the easiest way for no-fuss toy storage. I always had a basket ready for the toys that were flavour of the day. Easy for my daughter to grab and also easy for her to put back once finished playing.

Today the same baskets are used for wool, dirty washing, toilet paper and lounge throws.

Recently visiting a favourite shop of mine – Heimlifeiss in Zurich, Seefeld – I saw the most wonderful collection. I am convinced they have the best collection of baskets in the whole of Zurich. Scroll down to see images of just a few taken just last week.

Wall Art

Flat baskets pinned to a wall can make great boho inspired wall art.

For plants/flowers

Dining table centre pieces 

Use shallow basket to display fresh fruits, or bits and pieces that would otherwise look messy if not stored within a basket.

Makeup organisers

Having my makeup pencils in small baskets makes them so much easier to get to and even looks pretty.

Storing blankets etc
