Usually at this time of year I am off home to New Zealand. It’s my wonderful vitamin D enriched escape from the cold European Winter. Not to mention of course great to spend time with my Mum and my good friends who have known me since ever.

My experience:

As excited as I was to try Athletic Greens, opening the package proved to be a bit of a surprise. Inside the packet was a very fine moss green powder. Fortunately the vanilla smell was pleasant.

Following instructions carefully I made my first drink. My hubby screwed his nose up. Saying “rather you than me”… I took one sip and then thought, nope sorry I am not doing this to myself! At this stage I would like to point out that I have been a fussy eater my entire life (ask my Mum), so this really was a big ask!

Not one to give up easily however I decided to do a little research. Reading a few reviews on the internet and then asking round to see if anyone had any Athletic greens or supplement experience.

First port of call a dear friends husband who owns his own gym. He knew Athletic Greens well, had been drinking it daily for years and thought it was a great product.

Next a neighbour of mine who is an ex female body builder champion. She became super excited telling me how lucky I was to get the opportunity to try Athletic Greens. She had never heard of it before but had already been taking a similar supplement for years.

I made her enjoy a full glass of Athletic Greens with me. This is when I drank my first full glass. Knowing that it really was good for me based on information I had gotten from a friend I trusted put a whole different light on things.

Note, I purposefully drink Athletic Greens out of a wine glass to make a real celebration out of the daily ritual.

Conclusion:

Compared to similar products on the market Athletic Greens has a much more pleasant taste and consistency. It has the added benefit from others that you can, (provided you have shaken it properly first), sip it slowly like a cocktail.

Taking Athletic Greens in the morning really does make you feel fresh and full of energy to start the day. It is a super easy way of making sure your body gets all it’s necessary nutrients especially during these cold winter months.

Athletic Greens Detox Smoothie Recipe:
  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1 Tbs ginger peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup peeled cucumber
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 kiwi peeled and chopped
  • 2 Tbs fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 scoop Athletic Greens, or 1 packet.

Add ingredients to blender and process until smooth – add the Athletic Greens last and blend more ensuring everything is super smooth and well blended.

After this you will feel fabulous the whole day long!
