What is TRANOÏ?

TRANOÏ, meaning “between us” in Italian, is an artistic platform/ trade show taking place 4 times a year during Paris Fashion Week and twice a year during New York Market Week. The event gathers and curates the very best of avant-garde and progressive designers as well as contemporary and leading brands, putting them in the hands of the most influential players in the fashion industry – such as buyers and press.

The TRANOÏ which I visited yesterday in Paris was dedicated to mens and womenswear Spring/Summer 2017 pre-collections and Perfume.

7 Fabulous New Finds at TRANOÏ – Paris:

1. Wearable Technology Bag from Gianoi

I can seriously see a future where we will all be owning bags with this feature – you can literally load your phone in your bag. Then when you get home you simply place it on it’s cable free charger and leave it there to become recharged ready for your next outing.

You can program your phone via an app so that your bag will flash colour coded so that you don’t always have to grab your phone to check whether a new message, email etc has come through – I NEED THIS BAG!

2.  Sneakers from Work_On

Having a good look through the pre-collections I could see the sneaker trend is definitely here to stay- only they are getting funkier as we speak! Loved the collection from Work_On.

3. Army Jackets reinvented by AS65

AS65  – owned by Alessandro Squarzi a Milan-based fashion entrepreneur. The jackets are original American parkas of the 1950s which have been  brought to Italy and reinvented  – they are the perfect solution to have a luxurious, street or chic look. Combined them with sexy evening wear or jeans/shorts – take your pick – anything goes! The winter collection is combined with fur. (my husband and daughter have already decided they need one).

4. BDK Parfums Paris

I have always dreamed of having a perfume that is very rare and it was amazing speaking to David personally about his perfume collection which has only just been launched a couple of weeks. I adored the story he told behind each perfume and how he has especially developed each fragrance for a specific type of woman.

In case you are like me and would also like a unique perfume they are currently only available here. The time to buy is NOW i’m sure he’s going to be famous one day!

A personally confessed perfume addict – I loved his fragrances.

5. Save My Bag

Yep, am afraid I fell in love with these… made out of lycra fibre – also washable. Sold in a number of colours, reasonably priced and you can even personalise them – one had to be my souvenir for this visit however, I know i’ll need a few more colours to complete my wardrobe!

6. Il Delirous eyewear

I’ve always been asked what the current sunglasses trend is…so here it is…we are now officially moving away from cat eyes into the world of round glasses. Emphasis to be placed on good quality exclusive materials.

“THE GLASSES ARE LIMITED EDITION AND HANDCRAFTED BY ITALIAN ARTISANS. THE FRAME IS MADE OF MAZZUCCHELLI ACETATE WITH HINGES AND SCREWS IN TITANI”

These could be my next sunglasses…

7. Beautiful but somehow a little disturbing – Kobja recycles invasive toad skins.

* Non-protected species, which was introduced into Oceania from South America. This highly poisonous toad is in the process of destroying several local species, and since these problems began to occur, animal defence associations have recommended its selective elimination. In this way, each toad skin is recycled, not destroyed.”

…food for thought…

  1. Very interesting post Yvonne. Loved the bag. I hate imitation but this is a fun bag inspired by… not one trying to be the real thing. The bag with the phone feature is good too. Lovey to see all these new things although I would have much rather been there with you.
