3 Sustainable Winter Wardrobe Staples

Hi Everyone,

With all the talk about sustainability, conscious buying and capsule wardrobes, now is the perfect time to reflect on pieces that You find to be sustainable Winter wardrobe staples.

When reviewing your wardrobe and deciding what to buy it’s important to think about the items which You always have as Your goto items. These are items worth investing in. Let them last several seasons as they are a part of your inner style.

Keep reading to find out my 3 sustainable winter wardrobe staples and why I have classified them as such.

3 Sustainable Winter Wardrobe Staples

1. Grey Sweater

Grey because it breaks up the black that tends to monopolise Winter. I always make sure there is at least one “perfect” grey sweater in my wardrobe.

Perfect means: no pulls, no discolouring, great fit, thin enough to wear indoors and still warm enough to be worn alone under a coat as it gets colder.

Statement sleeves are a HOT topic this year. I found this sweater on the NA-KD website. International shipping and if you use the discount code “funkyforty20” you get 20% off!!!

2. Skinny Black Jeans

No matter how hard the fashion industry has tried to steer consumers away from skinny black jeans, they remain a fashion staple. They are living proof that it is we the consumer that determines street style. Even more so than what we see walking down runways during fashion week.

The issue with  skinny black jeans is  that mostly they loose their sharp black colour over time so you may need to invest in a new pair.

3. High Top Sneakers

Nothing beats a pair of statement high top sneakers. So versatile – I found myself wearing these in Singapore last week (see here). For the past couple of years I’ve spent the largest portion of Winter wearing the same white high top sneakers. This year I decided to upgrade to a statement pair  – especially now as leopard print has made such a come back. These particular high top sneakers are a Swiss brand Künzle-Schuhe and I found them in one of my favourite stores in Zurich,  G-31.

  1. Love your wardrobe pieces…the sleeves on your sweater are to die for and your sneakers are , indeed , really jazzy 👌👌

  2. Hi Yvonne. I love your grey sweater. Probably for two reasons. First of all the colour. I just seem to collect so many grey items after having done colour consulting and knowing this is my colour to shine, which is a kind of funny combi, right, grey and shine. Second reason are those sleeves. So stylish and so feminine. Love, Lieske
