Hi Everyone,
Second day of pure grey here in Zurich and I’ve decidedly started dreaming about sunny Swiss mountain escapes. Can you relate to this?
In any case here we have a selection of favourite Swiss Mountain resorts with links to my personal experience at each one. The experiences range from being in the middle of the slope, allowing ski-in and ski-out, to being situated in a magical village and more.

10 Best Swiss Mountain Resorts for 2025 – According to FunkyForty
1. Riffelalp Resort 2222m – The Best Matterhorn View Experience Ever!
Situated at 2’222m above sea level, the magic started as soon as we got off the Gornergrat Bahn to be treated by a sledge which then gracefully transported us and our luggage to the hotel.
The whole experience including view was so magical that I really believe this mountain resort should be on everyones’ bucket list!
2. 7132 Hotel: Architecture, Atmosphere & August Films in Vals
Imagine simply soaking in luscious warm water, in the middle of an architectural wonder as the stars begin to set. Let your mind wander… it’s difficult not to have a sense of spirituality overcome you in this surreal atmosphere.
3. Awakening Senses at Six Senses Crans Montana
Six Senses Crans Montana is also a beautiful mountain spa resort – great to visit in-between seasons or in the middle of ski season. A November break there sounds pretty good to me though.

4. Grace La Magna Hotel – St Moritz
This is what I seriously call a hotel room with a view!
I would certainly recommend that you request a room in the Grace wing. Each room has unbeatable large windows overlooking the lake. Enjoy a bath with full lake view.

5. Mindfulness & Mountains – A Match Made in Heaven at Hotel Maistra 160, Pontresina
In this fast-paced world we live in it is easy to find oneself in a state of permanent business and stress. This combined with the fact that Autumn is a time renowned as being difficult for many, yet ever so beautiful in the mountains, lead to the Hotel Maistra 160, Pontresina introducing the concept of Mind Body Medicine Weeks from October through to the beginning of December.

6. A Fairytale Moment at the Kempinski Palace Engelberg Titlis
Imagine driving to the main entrance of a stunning Belle-Epoque-era property and having the car door opened by doormen. Meanwhile snowflakes gently patter down all around. Bells are ringing in the distance, soon to be accompanied by horse and carriage drawing close…
7. Hotel Walther, Pontresina
The main street of Pontresina is lined with beautiful old Engadine style buildings, the sound of the river Inn wherever you are and a magnificent panoramic mountain view. Imagine all of this combined with a Fairytale like castle hotel. “Fairytale like” is the only real way of describing Hotel Walter. A family run hotel by Anne-Rose und Thomas C. Walther, nestled right in the heart of Pontresina’s main street.
8. Wining, Dining & Unwinding: A Weekend at the Lenkerhof Gourmet Spa Resort
Built over 350 years ago as a mineral bathhouse, this grand dame has aged like fine wine (pun intended) – more about this further down. Offering the perfect fusion of heritage and modern luxury whilst maintaining a cosy homey feeling at the same time.
Only 2.5 hours drive from Zurich makes Lenk the perfect weekend getaway. However don’t be fooled, we could have happily stayed longer. What really struck us was the mesmerising alpine panorama all around. Giving us the feeling of being in a live Disney-world.
9. Cresta Palace – Near St Moritz
Truly unique is the fact that there’s something special happening all year round at Cresta Palace Hotel. December it’s about Christmas. In January there’s a special Asian cooking course, the bobsleigh and skeleton World championship. February there’s the Cresta Palace gold cup Curling competition… and so it goes the whole year through. Find out more about the Winter highlights here.
10. The Cambrian, Adelboden – A Real Feel Good Oasis
It’s when you arrive at a hotel, walk inside and are laughing with the reception staff within minutes, that you know you have landed somewhere special!
The Cambrian Adelboden is an extremely relaxed easy going, yet stylish, hotel that makes you feel as though you are at home rather than in a hotel.
