Spice up your Wardrobe with these Spring Basics!

You’ve probably read the recent post about “Wardrobe Shopping” – and I am a total fan of it. All the same time in order for your Wardrobe to continue working ensuring your daily look remains bright and trendy, it’s essential to spice it up with a couple of new basics each season.

This collection of Spring Basics was found in eclectic in Zurich – I love going there and having a chat to Bettina about her latest style/ fashion discoveries. When asked how she “hunts” down the latest fashion and new brands I was told she never “hunts”…it’s all based on “intuition” and the trendy fashionista’s she meets on her travels – smile!

Spice up your Wardrobe with these Spring basics:

1.  Spring Jacket.

Dots are featuring just as much as strips this coming season – love this dotted jacket by Sophie Stique – a brand you won’t find online.

2. Long Waistcoat

Never  underestimate what a good waist coat can do to your wardrobe – worn over a long sleeved shirt or simple t-shirt or even over a dress – they will instantly revamp any outfit.

3. Wide cropped Trousers and Ballerinas

…ok so I know I’ve been preaching you should wear heels or platforms with wide trousers but these are high waisted and provided your top is tucked in at the front, give the impression of long legs all on their own so it’s Ok to wear ballerinas with them – another basic – I adore these sparkly ones!

4.  Socks with Spots

Socks are hot this season, so are spots (dots), so why not have a pair to wear with …..any shoe! In pumps, sneakers…you name it!

5. Long white shirt

This one’s a must have in every wardrobe – only please don’t necessarily wear it over your tulle skirt as I have – (I was playing around). Suitably long white shirts can easily be worn as a dress in summer (please wait for your legs to brown first – smile) – team it up with your favourite sneakers and long waistcoat for full 2016 effect!

6. Basic T-Shirt

That you need basic t-shirts goes without saying really. Personally though I consider them to be a little like tea towels – we wear them so often that they need refreshing each year 😉

Look at this cute combination:

  1. I love this post Yvonne and I’m so excited about polka dots being back – I just got a vintage dress with dots from my aunt. Also, the long white shirt is so cool and you pull it off perfectly. You look great! We’ll have to go to eclectic next time I’m there.
