Hi Everyone,
Based on Burberry and Dries Van Noten, found in Zara, a simply essential read for any fashionista!
Floral prints on black/dark background are a hot item right now and recent fashion shows are telling us they are “sustainable” trend to pick up on. Choose carefully and you’ll end up with a piece you can start wearing now and keep on wearing throughout Summer.
The Latest Flower Trend that’s Here to Stay!
Florals on a dark background! Burberry featured the look large in their 2016/17 Winter collection:
Then we saw the trend pop up again just now in the Dries Van Noten Spring/ Summer 2017 Collection.
Oops …I couldn’t help but pick up my own little piece of floral on dark background from Zara… but at CHF 49 I figured it was a good bargain for a trend that’s sure to stay.
The pink coat (ASOS) picks up the pretty pink flowers.

As this little floral number is quite short I decided to team it up with over the knee boots (similar here). In summer with tanned legs they’ll be replaced with heeled sandals and a clutch, making a cute evening outfit.
The bag is one of my cuties from AGL.
Wearing one of my favourite sunnies from lovely NZ designer Andrea Moore.
I of course don’t always wear sunnies – but these days you’ll find me wearing glasses more and more. Bi-focals here in Switzerland cost an absolute arm and leg with lenses alone starting at CHF 1’000. So I have been ever so pleased to find out about GlassesUSA.com. Super quick friendly service at 1/5 of the price – fabulous! In addition I love their huge range of the newest of frames.
I’ve just learned new things about wearing more than one pair of glasses. Each pair will feel different and as long as you can see better you do have to give yourself a little time to get used to a new pair. I know a lot of people are cautious about ordering online but you don’t need to be. As long as you get your prescription from a doctor/optometrist as well as your PD (Pupillary Distance) distance nothing can go wrong.

Thanks Jaymie – it was a new look for me 😉
Have a great week,

Oh, your dress is so lovely and you look fabulous. I don’t care what the designers are showing, florals are always a winner in my book. I just bought a pair of palazzo pants that have a bold floral on a black background that will be popping up on my blog soon. It’s good to find other like minded bloggers. Have a great weekend.

Very nice, maybe I will be getting a flowery dress for myself xxx
I never used to like florals Yvonne….until I started mixing them with stripes and leopard and other “non-girly” things like OTK boots and chunky shoes!
These florals on a dark background are perfect for this time of year and your pink coat casts a beautiful light.

Thanks Samantha – that’s a cute idea to team florals with strips – must give this a go too!
