Hi there how is November treating you?
I always find it terribly cold and am torn between family/work responsibilities and escaping toย somewhere lovely and warm – do you know the feeling? Well here is the perfect solution in case you are anywhere near Zurich…
The Sweetest Sunday
The Sweetest Sunday in Zurich has got to be brunch at the Rive Gauche Rastaurant, Hotel Baur au Lac! Superbly unique in that it’s like having a buffet but you never have to leave your table.
Starting of course with the wonderful house champagne, Philipponnat ย that has it’s wonderful unique rich taste to it making you feel like you are right in the heart of Champagne itself…
The champagne helps when it comes to deciding exactly which brunch package to go for. Theres something for every appetite.
Next a trolly with wonderful breads is brought to your table…
We ended up taking a basket of sweet breads and a second savoury basket…
Then the table started to rapidly fill up with a fabulous Tomato cocktail (non alcoholic).
Followed by a wonderful little Swiss homemade Birchermuesli…
…and then a lovely three tiered buffet selection on our table consisting of a selection of fruits, smoked fish and then top layer salami, ham, cheese etc…
Meanwhile the champagne kept on flowing…
Of course we could choose a freshly made egg dish of our hearts desire…I chose Eggs Benedict…
Let the feast begin…
There would have been another main course added to this all but both my hubby and I were totally full…had to go for an extra long run today to make up for yesterdays indulgence…totally worth it!
