Trends may come and go but true style is ageless. With that it doesn’t matter how old you are or what size and shape you are, it’s always possible to look stylish!

Style at Any Age – Especially 80

Todays post is dedicated to my dear Mum who just turned 80 this month.

My Mum has never worn much – if any makeup, but always made sure she was well dressed. Over the years her dress sense has changed somewhat – I still have memories of her in purple hot pants with matching heels in the 70’s (eek – hehe). As my Dad was still alive she mostly dressed in what made him happy. This included the typical belted look and pencil skirts – tell me a man that doesn’t like that! However now it’s as if she is going through a new revolution of being absolutely free to dress as she pleases!

Her favourite look being a soft shift dress with pretty print on it. She has had this terrible habit of hijacking my bags. It always makes me laugh as I have bought her so many bags over the years and yet the ones she uses mostly are always my second hand bags – it has become a running joke between us.

You can see she’s worried in this picture. Telling me I can photograph the bag but I don’t need to think I am getting it back.

Luckily she’s not interested in this bag as it’s far too small for her, but it was a little piece of fun for our photo shoot – taken up north at Taipa Bay.

Whilst many people have black as their wardrobe goto colour – my Mum has red. It’s always been a favourite colour and  a large part of her wardrobe is consumed by it.

Occasionally you’ll find her in cropped pants and long blouses – my personal favourite look on her.

 

My Mum’s 3 Style Mantras:

1. Always leave the house looking and feeling fabulous.
2. Always look at the shops and what others are wearing for inspiration.
3. Never ever wear ripped or crinkled clothing no matter how trendy it is.

 

A big thanks to my Mum for remaining young at heart and looking fabulous at any age!
