Spring Stories for Every Style

Hi Everyone,

Whilst the 70’s and 80’s dictated rigid trends, today is all about defining ourselves. We are given a whole spectrum of trends and need to decide ourselves which trend is right for us. In doing so there are 3 basic questions we should ask ourselves:

  1. Who am I!
  2. How do I see myself?
  3. How do I want others to see me?

This post covers the highlights of last weeks personal styling event with Melanie Albisser at Modissa in Zurich. In March Melanie gave great tips for Spring Styling according to shape see here . This time the topic was all about Spring stories. Let the stories inspire you and help you decide where your personal style passion lies…

Spring Stories for Every Style

Story Pink

Pink can be worn in a number of ways telling a different story each time. From business to contemporary casual or with a sweet floaty feminine touch. Which of the following 3 outfits looks like you?

Perfect for the office.

A little more contemporary but the total look can change depending on shoes and other accessories worn with it. Hair tied back or left out will also make a difference to the overall look.

I love this combination but you have to play with it to make it work for you – my preference would be to tuck the top in in the front and leave the back out. This way the whole look is not quite so bulky but still has a bit of a fun feel to it.

Story Yellow

How do you like to wear your yellow? Do you like to be tone in tone from head to toe…

…or prefer to use your yellow as a statement item to bring forth the rest of your outfit. The great thing is that there is no right or wrong – it is really left up to you.

Love the way Yelitza styled this yellow skirt, needless to say it ended up going home with her. Perfect look for office or going out.

Story Dress

Today we see such a wide variety of styles that I’m constantly surprised by seeing people discovering the dress again either for the very first time or trying a style they never wore before. Maxi or short. Off the shoulder or shirt dress…what’s your preference?

This dress is screaming “beach” to me but could also be worn out shopping or even dressed up for the evening.

…admit it Melanie, you’re in love with this dress right – smile. It looks like it belongs to you.

My personal wardrobe needs this dress. I see it with strappy heels and a cute clutch in the evening or heeled navy booties, a straw shopping bag and large straw hat during the day.

The shirt dress, perfect for those who simply want to throw on a pair of trainers and feel dressed.

Story Tule

The tule skirt hasn’t left us – dress it up or down as you wish but today the dressed down look definitely prevails.
