Experiencing a New Michelin Star Restaurant in Paris!

Hi everyone hope you’re having a fab day…Paris is like food heaven so to be trying out a new michelin star restaurant – Jacques Faussat- La Braisière in Paris was even better than heaven – if that’s possible!

Come and join me in revisiting our fabulous menu together with matching wine.

Believe it or not initially I was a little apprehensive  as the fist michelin star restaurant I ever went to was with my hubby on our first wedding anniversary. Memories are so vivid of seeing the price list and suggesting we cross the road for pizza, but we decided not to. Instead we went through the whole menu (the only option available at that restaurant). To this day it remains the most expensive meal either of us has ever eaten and  we were so full we couldn’t eat a thing the whole next day!DSC_0065

Jacques Faussat- La Braisière was however a totally different experience – you can choose how ever many courses you like – we went through a wonderful meal and still felt fabulous afterwards – I will definitely be going back!

DSC_0070 Amuse bush of celery and cod fish with a hint of horseraddish… am already beginning to think of that film Ratatouille with the wonderful explosion of tastes.

DSC_0081Next came along a glass of the most fabulous Pouilly Fumé I have ever tasted – have had a few as it happens to be my favourite white wine.

Potato and duck liver served with a super light and tasty truffle jus.

Followed by a glass of Chardonnay. Coming from NZ we know this wine well – this was a beautiful full bodied one perfect with our next course.

DSC_0090 Zander fillet served with white asparagus, leek, onions and pine nuts – a combination that simply melted in the mouth!

DSC_0095 A glass of Burgundy wine with our next course – having just visited Burgundy the weekend before, this brought back wonderful memories.

Duck brest with pan fried liver wrapped in a delicate pastry, served with a signature spice of black cumin.  Wonderful the pastry was crispy, light and the whole dish just another explosion of delicious flavours.

DSC_0113 Lemon and vanilla cream slice served with forest strawberries and goat cheese ice cream – my mouth waters as I remember this!

Had to go into the kitchen at the end of it all to learn a few tricks from Jacques himself!

Thank you so much for having us Jacques – we are looking forward to coming back to your restaurant and can highly recommend it as a wonderful unforgettable experience for anyone visiting Paris!

    1. Hehe Diane,

Was amazing – fortunately it was a little glass with each course 😉
Might not have walked out otherwise – heheh!
      Have a fabulous weekend.
